Yes. I did: sudo port install gettext
and it went ahead and fetched, configured, built and installed it. Then
I went back into pan-0.132, did a make distclean, repeated the
configure, and checked po/Makefile again.
When I do port provides msgfmt, it does say that it is provided by gettext.
The usual workaround, setting both macros manually to
/opt/local/bin/msgfmt, works as before.
I have updated MacPorts from 1.442 to 1.5 and am doing a port upgrade
installed (which upgrades all packages to latest) to see if that makes
any difference.
