Tools > News Servers > [select server] > Open > Newsrc checkbox. Set the filename you wish to export to if necessary, OK out. I'm not sure if pan updated the newsrc immediately, or only when you switched servers or exited, but do that if necessary, and you should find the file created as expected. I'd suggest you do /not/ use it directly, in case new-pan chews it up for some reason, but make a copy of it so you have a backup, then move/rename the copy to ~/.pan2/newsrc-1 or whatever new pan file and location you are using (one per server, as I believe I mentioned earlier).
