I assume the lack of response means this isn't possible. Either that or you're tired of people asking the same thing (I tried to do due diligence with searching but didn't find anything).
Would it be possible to push the headers from another program? In other words update the file(s) in .pan2/groups/xxxx with new headers grabbed using software that can do what I want? I'm talking about something I would write that could do this. I assume all I need is the format of the group files which seems to be explained within the file itself. Is this information accurate? Would there be any other files that need to be updated? Thanks CR On 3/27/07, Chris <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
For me groups that have more than 4 or 5 million articles take a few days to download all the headers. I need to break up the retrieval over several days due to bandwidth limitations. From what I can tell it's not possible to stop a "get all headers" and then restart it without starting over from the beginning. I know it's possible to pause the task and restart it but I'm talking about completely restarting the task. Generally speaking I want all the active headers in a particular group. What I really want is for Pan to call GROUPLIST (or whatever it is) to get all the valid article numbers. Then check that list against the headers currently in the database, then fill in the gaps. This is basically a "sync" from my current state to the group's state. The article expiration should work the same way. Any headers that are no longer valid should be removed from the database. Can Pan already do this? Thanks CR
