For a pure GNOME program this is preferable, but there are many users on KDE, Xfce and others (like me, GNUstep). > A third wish: when I send an UTF-8 post to edit in GNU Emacs, > it opens an ISO-8859-1 buffer even if both my LANG and Pan are > UTF-8. Customize the variable `current-language-environment' or do `M-x set-language-environment'. > Finally, I would like that Pan launched Emacs whenever I want > to follow-up, without opening its own window and then requesting me > to C-E. I don't know what you mean by this. If you set "emacsclient" as external editor in Pan, you are connecting to the already running Emacs. A new buffer is spawned and after finishing, you kill it with `C-x #'; the contents of the buffer is being copied to the Pan's posting dialog. This is perfectly normal behaviour. > Ah, and a new one I just noticed: it doesn’t accept my email > address as valid. Your email address has nothing to do with the external editor. I think we are misunderstanding each other. _______________________________________________ Pan-users mailing list Pan-users@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pan-users
