OK, I *think* even I can follow what I just snipped -- but first, one more
VDQ : do I try it now, or wait for 1.0? (I.e., will "yum update pan"
handle it, when the time for that comes?)

Fwiw, I run Gnome -- and get my updates of most things from yum when they
come out in the Fedora repos, not right away. I can wait, and will likely
have FC6 before either FC5 or FC6 gets 1.0; the local LUG will burn the
media for a bunch of us any day now. (I usually back up, try an upgrade,
and only do a clean install if that fails. I mostly hasn't failed afaict.)

I forwarded your instructions to my email, and will file them where I can
find them. I'll also re-mark them new here.
