I was having a heck of a time building with gcc 3.4.6 in 512MB; it kept hanging on scorefile-test until I looked through the archives and found a suggestion to remove -O2 from my CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS, and that was the trick. Y'all might want to put that in the FAQ or INSTALL or something.
Anyhow, as others have remarked this one looks like a winner. No memory leaks, and I follow a binaries group that dumps entire 30- and 60- minute old-time radio shows every day. One feature request I'd like to throw in the pot is probably trivial to someone who knows string parsing better than I do. Some folks use an email address as their "real" name, with the result that the name in quotes on the FROM line is pretty long, like this: From: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For the past several versions, pan has wisely truncated that to the left side of the address, but it keeps the leftmost quote. The result is when you reply, it writes: On 10/01/06, "john-jakob said: Can you drop that left quotation mark when including the user name as part of the quote header? Sorry I couldn't come up with something more significant to complain about... really, 0.115 is the Best. Release. Ever. -- Peter B.
