There > are some minor pitfalls... As a matter of fact I did reinstall Gentoo 2006.1 yesterday which does indeed come with GCC-4.1.1 by default. I've heard a lot of people complain about GCC 4.1.1 though I have to say this seems to be the first time I've ran into an issue with it, if this is in fact caused by gcc 4.1.1.
