Pan had been using the GNOME libraries for URL handling, but now it just calls the GNOME application 'gnome-open' to the same effect without the library dependencies. Even better: KDE, Windows, and OS/X all have apps equivalent to 'gnome-open', so by default Pan sniffs what you're using and calls the right one.
