Ok, I've submitted bug 346588 based on your suggestion. The newsgroup
list was default_unsub.dat.gz (had to gzip it because the original file
was too big for bugzilla). default_unsub.dat was written by pan 0.14.2
when pointed to this same news server. Also included a gdb backtrace
which looks "symbolic" enough.
