Intermittent bugs are the worst! Back on June 18 I posted about
this same problem -- when I'm in the header pane and I type one
character in the Search widget, the header pane goes blank as if
there were no articles with that letter in the Author or Title.
(The letter 'a' for example, even when there are tons of articles
with 'a' in the title.)

When pan gets itself into that state, all I do is shut pan down
and restart -- and then the search widget works perfectly again.

Seems almost like pan is searching through an empty list. The
'search' function itself seems to work perfectly when it works
at all. That's why I suspect that the Search algorithm is
being handed an unpopulated list when this happens -- or maybe
the number of articles set erroneously to a negative number?

BTW, my original report on June 18 stated that the same happens
in the Groups pane, but in retrospect I think I was wrong. At
that time I didn't realize there were two different Search widgets
for the two different panes. I think it might be less confusing
if the Group search only appeared when the Groups pane is displayed
in tabbed mode, and the same for the Header pane in tabbed mode.

Thanks Charles!
