I know this matter has come up before, and Charles has said that it has a low priority, but with a new version of Pan I would ask that it is looked at again.
I frequently post to binary newsgroups, and have to use additional programs outside of Pan to do it, returning to Pan to read the postings. Pan reads yenc and uuencoded messages on the fly, but there is no provision for encoding and posting binaries within Pan. The best way of doing this in Linux IMHO is by using newspost on the commandline. It has been suggested that Pan should have a GUI interface to newspost built in, which I would heartily support, or at the very least connect with newspost on a commandline basis.
