Ah yes, the other thing that came to mind - the rules engine. :-) I used to use the rules engine in 0.14.x to download new messages from non-binary groups so I could read them offline. I can't seem to find a way to do this in 0.97.
I've also noticed that after the crash I reported earlier (which I still haven't duplicated), my message window in the 3-panel layout is maximized, and it doesn't seem to remember the sizes I've set the panes to after the crash.
