Not really new to 0.97, but...

In my experience, clicking the expand/collapse thread arrow beside a
subject is problematic if you either navigate to a subject (using <space>
or <n>, for example) or click on the subject itself. Clicking the arrow
after doing any of these things will momentarily collapse the thread, then
instantly re-expand it; clicking the arrow should keep the thread
collapsed until you click it again.

If you only click the arrow and not the subject beside it, you can
collapse the thread as expected, until the subject is clicked, then
clicking the arrow exhibits the behavior above.

Collapsing the thread is very useful to see exactly what's going on in a
group; hopefully Pan's behavior isn't by design.
