[Pan-users] Pan 0.92 - Messages automatically marked "read"

In five of the six subscribed newsgroups I am reading, new messages are automatically marked read making it impossible to tell which messages are new. The sixth group works fine. Is there a way to make the other five behave?

Also, can threads be expanded by default?
