In playing with the new version, it looks like the problems with large groups and Pan going nuts have returned.
Pan is reporting the following total for a.b.multimedia. alt.binaries.multimedia 633200 It took a long time to download all of the headers initially, as well. Exact time unknown, as I had a few things going on here - but certainly no quicker than the recent CVS. It also seemed to start the swap problem, as the system turned sluggish afterward. I double-clicked the group list to open it, and here we go, a quick top snapshot - high load, full swap, high CPU time: top - 18:50:47 up 16 days, 18:12, 1 user, load average: 1.77, 1.68, 1.00 Tasks: 120 total, 2 running, 118 sleeping, 0 stopped, 0 zombie Cpu(s): 10.0% us, 7.0% sy, 0.0% ni, 0.0% id, 80.4% wa, 0.0% hi, 2.7% si Mem: 2065548k total, 2015252k used, 50296k free, 3036k buffers Swap: 1951856k total, 1951816k used, 40k free, 31628k cached PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 24968 jef 18 0 1780m 1.6g 788 D 6.2 80.4 13:43.22 pan 153 root 15 0 0 0 0 S 3.9 0.0 1:41.83 kswapd0 Debian testing, 2GB RAM, 2.53GHz Celeron.
