Hello Sh1ndy, at first, add your switch in Testing mode to PF. Then configure your ports on the switch like in production. In this state PF sends out “OK/Allowed” to every request from your switch but adds every client to PFs database. Let it run like this for some days until you have all your clients in PF. When you have all your clients in PF correctly configured, you can simply set your switch in PF to Production mode.

Hello Johannes, thanks for your answer. Sounds very interesting and good to know. One question about the testing mode: This means in the first step I configure my ports static on the switch, right? Regards Sh1ndy Am 08.02.2024 um 07:21 schrieb Mudrich, J. <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>: Hello Sh1ndy, instead of adding a switch by single IP address, you can enter an IP address range like 10.0.1.0/24. Setup your switches as “testing” and let them run for a while. All your connected devices will pop up in PF. Hello, I just got Packetfence running... now I am planning to add network devices to it's RADIUS to use the MAB authentication. How can I add large number of devices automatically? Is there any best practice? I've als read about a learning/test mode? Is there any way to let Packetfence learn all these MAC addresses via the connected switches?
