Not too much has changed some the previous review (I think). Based on the previous review(s), I'd changed most everything to use %global instead of %define, but now read somewhere that this recommendation has been reversed. May need some iteration. The EPEL builds are also okay, but the CentOS builds are completely broken after someone decided that scotch and other packages are no longer part of centos... I'm not sure how much "clutter" you are willing/able to accept, but the spec file does have some extra bits in it to allow building on various Fedora,ELEP versions as well as SuSE flavours.
