I checked folder permissions, apache has write access... This error
happens when viewing the web interface:
PHP Fatal error: Class 'OC_JSON' not found in
/var/www/owncloud/apps/calendar/ajax/settings/guesstimezone.php on line
10, referer: https://example.com/?app=calendar
The previous error in the first email happens when checking the "Check
Timezone" box on the Settings page.
Thanks for the quick response,
Daniel

Hi,
It's probably because the web server has no write permission in the
app folder.
Could you try to give the web server write permission to the app
folder and open the ownCloud web interface. Afterwords caldav should work.
Cheers, Georg

displaying in the web interface, I have weekly recurring events and
only the first events of the month are displayed (at the beginning of
every month, but not recurring every week). I can't test it at the
moment, but I believe it was displaying properly in Thunderbird - so
perhaps it's limited to the web interface.
