Hi,
I have some general questions related to OSGI. I was wondering if at the OSGI
alliance you have recent statistics on the use of OSGI in companies.
Especially, what proportion they use of the core and the enterprise
specifications, the numbers of concerned projects, if they are seeking for OSGI
skilled employees, ...
I found that few open source projects are actually using OSGI, or it is often
to allow users to run their software into an OSGI container leaving aside
services such as EventAdmin, ConfigurationAdmin, DS, ... . Their first argument
for this is to be able to keep their application compatible with any runtime
environments (a good example could be Neo4j). Are you agree with that? Is it
the same thing for companies? Are you aware of projects that aim to make OSGI
projects easier to use in any environments when they use some of the enterprise
specifications?
Best Regards,
Clement.
