We're off to a strong start for the year with a record month on Opensource.com bringing in 299,171 page views and 192,599 unique visits. We had two successful themed content weeks: Youth in Open Source week and Women in Open Source week that helped attract five new authors and allowed us to publish a record 60 articles in one month.

The traffic for our "what is open source page?" is steady with small increase compared to last month. We maintained the #1 position in search results for "What is open source?" beating out Wikipedia. We've had 11,240 page views to this resource in January.

The top article this month was about open source project management tools, written by one of our community moderators. It performed well on social media: almost 200 tweets, over 1,000 Facebook likes, and over 50 +1's on Google.

Our eight community moderators continue to be engaged volunteers and contributed 20% of this months content. Three of their posts made the top 10 this month generating 30,000 page views.
