That is a very interesting question to which I'd love to have an answer ! Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there is no way to simulate a vulnerability, which makes it pretty hard to test any scanner functionality without the actual hardware / software at hand. Any idea in this direction is very welcome as being able to add tests here could greatly improve the quality of our vulnerability detection ! I'm just afraid it's a whole project on its own.
