Install both version parallel.
Then you can run the 1.0 like "never touch a running system". ;-)
Delete one thinclient in 1.0 and add it in 2.0
Configure your RDP, Citrix, ... connections and test it.
If everything works properly, then you can move all other clients from 1.0
to 2.0:
make a LDIF export from "thinclients" in 1.0
then make a LDIF import in 2.0
