We have been using Openthinclient successfully for a while with single monitors
per thin client. Now we would like to set up some thin clients with two
monitors (ie: similar functionality to Windows XP - drag windows onto either
screen, with each screen displaying something independently of the other - as
in one large desktop). The purpose of doing this is because we have a
monitoring application that must run 7 x 24 on the one screen, while the user
needs to open and close standard applications on the other screen. We could
easily do this by installing two thin clients, with one monitor on each.
However, it is preferable to put in a single thin client with a dual-headed
video card, or a single thin client with two single-headed video cards. Looking
at the Openthinclient documentation it seems you can only do this with the
NVidia Twinview option, with the following requirements: "The TwinView feature
is only supported on NVIDIA GPUs that support dual-display
functionality, such as the GeForce2 MX, GeForce2 Go, Quadro2 MXR, Quadro2 Go,
and any of the GeForce4, Quadro4, GeForce FX, or Quadro FX GPUs. Please consult
with your video card vendor to confirm that TwinView is supported on your
card." (Openthinclient documentation). Our video cards are all ATI Radeon. Is
there a way we can do this, either with a dual-headed ATI Radeon, or two
single-headed video cards? Or are the only choices NVidia vs. 'two thin client
stations'? Thanks for help in advance, Mark M.
