Exactly. You have two choices to workaround this error: either you fix
the Makefile (see my patch in the other mail) or you simply create this
dir in the %install section, for example:
%install
%__mkdir_p %{buildroot}%{_libdir} # %__mkdir_p is a macro for "/bin/mkdir -p"
%__make ....... # here you have to add the "long" make call
