I was curious about this new feature, but since I'm not using viewer 2 I just bacported it...
You'll find attached to this message a patch which is a backport of the sim console to v1.23.5 (will also work with Snowglobe v1: there's one reject in CMakeList.txt but you can ignore it safely since it deals with the list of XML UI files which doesn't exist any more in SG1's CMakeList.txt file). The floater was also made resizable and the shortcut was changed to CTRL SHIFT C. The menu entry for opening the console is in Advanced -> Consoles. Note that for now, this feature seems pretty useless (only one variable available and you can't even change it). Type "help" in the console to get the list of commands and variables from the server.
