We have simply added config for rsyslog:
/data/log/auditlog.ldif
{
rotate 5
daily
missingok
notifempty
dateext
compress
delaycompress
create ldap ldap
}

1. Stop the ldap instance
mv ldapauditlog file to ldapauditlog.bak
touch ldapauditlog
start the isntance
Is there any better way? Please confirm
