Hello, anything from 2.4 series and as close as possible to the latest released version. This is one approach. The another, which might look more stable and what-not, is to run 2.3 series included in eg. RH, I think. However you're at risk running into old bugs and you won't get any, or almost zero, support regarding such old release. Development of OpenLDAP is quite fast with all the risks this approach tags along. My $0.02 USD.
