Your output from sudo on that box *clearly* states that sudo-ldap uses
"/etc/sudo-ldap.conf".
Why are you screwing with /etc/ldap/ldap.conf or /etc/ldap/conf? Neither
of these files are used by sudo on debian/ubuntu.
