Thanks Kevin for your response!
Any response is better than nothing.

I see. I imagine this does not qualify then, unfortunately.

1. Security fixes. No
2. Fixes in third party components (e.g. webkit, xslt). No
3. P1/P2?. No, P3.
4. Simple, isolated, small, has existed a while, address issues in a large user base? Well, it is isolated to JFXPanel, but that means it's also only for Swing applications that run JavaFX. So not sure that it can be said to affect a large user base. I imagine the Swing+JavaFX user base is much smaller than the total JavaFX user base. The panel still gets updates from Swing, so it is just the handling of these NPEs that is a bit annoying.

I think I got my answer.
Thanks again

Hi Edward,

Gluon maintains the jfx25u repo, so Johan will need to answer about this specific request. He did post this message [1] earlier with general guidelines.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone read these emails? Is this the right place to discuss things like this?

I could just create a PR but it seems like that would be undesired according to the project readme.

Could this be a backport candidate?
