I haven't changed anything. I don't know why I got the idea that it was silent, but perhaps is was too quiet to hear, or perhaps the audio was even muted at the time. In any case, audio does work from Youtube. One of the Pulseaudo modules does contain the string "AUDIODEV". I have that evironment variable set to "/dev/sound/1". I'm running "library/audio/[email protected]:20240216T222830Z" of the Pulseaudo package. I assume later versions do the same thing. The Solaris, and illumos, way to specify an audio device is with the AUDIODEV environment variable. The Linux way is with configuration. The OI way seems to be with an invisible configuration that can't be changed by an ordinary user. > Does using get-default-sink and set-default-sink make any > difference? They show "oss_output.dsp1" and "oss_input.dsp1". I believe that that's correct, and that the first audio device would be "dsp0". All seems to be okay after all. -- -Gary Mills- -refurb- -Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada- _______________________________________________ openindiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
