Thanks.
I'll look at mkdocs/github, and docs.openindiana.org/illumos.org.
It might be a good idea to look at purging the out-of-date docs. Having them still so readily accessible from the OpenIndiana.org main page seems to me like just confusing to newcomers. (What is "dlc" anyway?)
Just my thoughts... YMMV

Subject Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Documentation

Hi,

Please note these pages are old archives from the OpenSolaris days and may
already have more modern version on https://docs.openindiana.org/ or
https://illumos.org/man/

If you see these pages lacking and we still have support for those tools we are
happy to get new guides into docs.openindiana.org

You can Contribute via Github here: https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-docs

The tool used to render the docs is mkdocs

Greetings

  Hi.
I've _finally_ gotten the hardware I've needed to get working on the
OpenIndiana systems and documentation I wanted to start 3 or 4 months
ago. (The Canada Post strike couldn't have come at a worse time.)
Right off the bat, these documents
https://dlc.openindiana.org/docs/osol/20090715/SYSADV1/html/smcover-1.html
[1] and
https://dlc.openindiana.org/docs/osol/20090715/SYSADV1/html/smcover-3.html
[2] etc.
are all about SMC, which, I gather, is not part of our tool kit. (Note
the date of these docs.)
So, I'll probably start by trying to replace these pages with
step-by-step instructions, if that is OK with people.
I'll try to keep the language neutral, like the original. This won't
happen quickly, but as I can. And, I'll need to hand-code it all, or is
there a preferred system/toolchain? It's been ages since I worked on
this last. (That was before Oracle bought Sun... Again, note the dates.)

Who should I submit the new pages/work to?
If someone is already working on this, I'm happy to take this discussion
off-line. And, is this cool with people?
Rainer
PS My main test systems still don't like USB HDD.
