I'm encountering a phenomenon described here on Digital Ocean's documentation:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-linux-apache-mysql-php-lamp-stack-on-ubuntu-22-04#:~:text=Warning%3A%20As%20of%20July%202022%2C%20an%20error%20will%20occur%20when%20you%20run%20the

about a problem with the mariadb-secure-installation script that puts it in an infinite error loop, & their Ubuntu fix gives me a syntax error on OpenIndiana, so I'm at a loss as to what needs to happen to get past it.

Specifically this is the error I get:

ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near 'BY 'Password'' at line 1

If anyone knows how to do this right, I'd appreciate a hand.

With thanks,

-Chris Bartels
