FYI, for those of you who are not paying attention, there is a new Autoconf release coming soon. I have provided the developers with access to OpenIndiana and OmniOS machines in order to flush out remaining issues.

If there is something which has been troubling you about Autoconf under OpenIndiana, this would be a good time to join the autoconf mailing list for discussion, or post Autoconf bug reports regarding issues you are aware of which still exist in the latest git version.

If have heard that Autoconf git now passes its test suite on my OpenIndiana machine.

It turns out that having /usr/xpg4/bin prior to some other directory containing a 'rm' program causes the ksh93 AST shell to emulate the 'rm' but it's emulation works incorrectly for 'rm -f' (it returns an error) when no argument to it is provided. Recent Automake releases will refuse to work in this case.

See https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?110283 for the details.
