Yes thanks, that is a thought. I should mention also that I burned a text install copy and tried it just to see and it got stuck also. The last message was: “cannot load kernel” I tried an OMNIOS and it loaded ok and installed. I want to use OpenIndiana here though because its package repo is much larger that Omni’s.
