Yes thanks, that is a thought. I should mention also that I burned a text 
install copy and tried it just to see and it got stuck also. The last message 
was: “cannot load kernel” I tried an OMNIOS and it loaded ok and installed. I 
want to use OpenIndiana here though because its package repo is much larger 
that Omni’s.

Hi,

are you talking about the image checksum, or they physical CD's check 
sum. It's useful to check the latter one too.
