I try to figure out if it possible to run SunRay with lightdm. At first it looks possible because gdm also uses ConsoleKit. In the moment I see in the logs and ConsoleKit history, that Seat will added but no login session starts. It will only add an 'empty' session:
1547650804.324 type=SEAT_ADDED : seat-id='utSunRaySeat12' seat-kind=1 1547719388.480 type=SEAT_SESSION_ADDED : seat-id='utSunRaySeat12' session-id='Session11' session-type='' display-type='' session-x11-display='' session-x11-display-device='' session-display-device='' session-remote-host-name='' session-is-local=FALSE session-unix-user=0 session-creation-time='' normaly should follow here: 1505312753.308 type=SEAT_SESSION_ADDED : seat-id='utSunRaySeat11' session-id='Session5' session-type='LoginWindow' display-type='utSunRay' session-x11-display=':11' session-x11-display-device='/dev/dtlocal' session-display-device=' ? ' session-remote-ost-name='' session-is-local=TRUE session-unix-user=50 session-creation-time='2017-09-13T14:25:47.347784Z' I can't see that utxinit is called. The DTU is still in OSD 26D state, no Xnewt is started. I do not know if there is a direct communication between utsessiond and gnome-session-worker, which would be a showstopper. I found a document on https://us-east.manta.joyent.com/jmc/public/opensolaris/ARChive/LSARC/2009/432/onepager-consolekit.txt which mentions that there is patch in ck-seat-tool necessary: Currently this program is added by a Solaris-specific patch to support the gdmdynamic program, needed for backwards compatibility. The Sun GNOME team is working with the external community to upstream this feature. I do not know if it is still necessary and which patch it is. Xnewt do not knows the option -seat <seatid> and <vt>. Can I ignore this options or it is still possible to use Xorg for SunRay DTU's? Has anyone more experiance with ConsoleKit? <signaturebeforequotedtext></signaturebeforequotedtext><signatureafterquotedtext>-- Carsten </signatureafterquotedtext> _______________________________________________ openindiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
