This is the problem, it should read like

root@hp:~# dladm show-vnic
LINK OVER SPEED MACADDRESS MACADDRTYPE VID
vnicsuse1 e1000g0 0 2:8:20:7b:d7:69 random 0
vnicoi1 e1000g0 0 2:8:20:34:49:1f random 0
vniw7ie8 e1000g0 0 2:8:20:7b:6c:7c random 0
vnicentos6 e1000g0 0 2:8:20:60:54:61 random 0
vnicub12 e1000g0 0 2:8:20:29:3f:5e random 0
vnicxp2 e1000g1 1000 2:8:20:1a:35:95 random 0

Like Jim said with opensolaris or oi you have to configure the vnics manually and bridge each virtualbox vm to an individual vnic with the corresponding mac address.

For me without the vnic config it worked somehow, but networking speed on the *host* system was abysmal slow with a running vbox vm. As soon as the vm was suspended networking speed on the host system was back to normal.
