Hi

that' s very interesting project, and I've seen some demo on YouTube very
promising,
But I do not understand well if it is a better VNC using advanced 2D rendering
. Or it can be used also as a multiple virtual desktop solution.
I mean I need a kvm machine for every client , or can be used as a virtual
desktop solution as sun ray with (solaris or Linux) ?

Sometimes you think: why didn't anyone else think of this.....
Found someone who is already working on it: ;-)

Hello,

What about SPICE? It is an opensource protocol which works with KVM.
KVM is already part of Illumos. so might it be interesting to port SPICE/Ovirt
as well?
Then we would have a display protocol with similar capabilities as the ALP
protocol.
Clients can than be made from smal ARM based systems like the cubieboard2
running a stripped down android or ubuntu version of linux.
Session broker functionality will than still be missing.
The clients will not be "'stateless" like the Sun rays but this might be a nice
direction to explore since KVM is already supported.

Kind regards,

Ivar
