I believe the latter comment regards X4540 with LSI controllers
(maybe older LSI 1068?) Because on X4500 with Marvell we do see
3TB properly if supported by the OS. More than that, while the
operating OS was SXCE (and only "saw" about 750Gb of the disk),
an OI LiveCD did see the whole 3Tb disk. We partitioned it with
GNU parted from the LiveCD, and that was enough for the old SXCE
snv_117 to see the disk's newly defined EFI partitions and use
them as parts of the pools (250Gb part to replace an old disk,
and 2.75Tb for test single-disk pool). This works for a year now.
