Try the MP 610 drivers. I have Canon PIXMA MP610 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.4 drivers installed and these work fine for printing. That is: printing local and shared over local network by Windows XP/Win7 clients. Scanning doesn't work, haven't tested it.
No experience with VBox printer sharing. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Klimov [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: vrijdag 14 juni 2013 14:21 To: Discussion list for OpenIndiana Subject: Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Can't print on Canon USB Printer MP 230 (but yes on MP160) On 2013-06-14 08:21, [email protected] wrote: >> Did you tell Virtualbox to show the printer to XP? > > Sure. For non-roots you need to add users to the vboxguest group so they have access to the VBox Filter drivers (for USB, maybe for advanced networking, etc.) As for CUPS, I've had limited experience with it; I know that beside standard (packaged with CUPS) drivers, there are also projects like foomatic and Gutenprint which provide additional drivers, and CUPS allows to use them. You might try to see if that helps. However, the first few google hits discuss that there are no drivers specific for MP230 as it is a very recent model... Good luck, //Jim _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
