Has anyone changed cd or do I discover something that I had never seen?

Normally when you type cd within a bash environment and you don't know where
you want to go, you can hit TAB and the OS will generate a list of all
possible files and directories.

Today I see within a zone that the list is generated as an ordered numbered
list.

So as an example:

As root:

Cd /opt {tab} generates:

root@zone1:~# cd /opt/

adt-bundle-unix/ onbld/

adt-bundle-unix-sparc_64.zip webmin/

Then as a standard user:

max@zone1:~$ cd /opt/

1) adt-bundle-unix-sparc_64.zip

2) adt-bundle-unix/

3) adt2/

4) onbld/

5) webmin/

It is a nice feature, but I like to know when this was introduced.
