Hello all,

I tried to enable the vtdaemon (and vt[23456]) services on the
oi_151a5 laptop, and found that (Ctrl+)Alt+F# keys don't switch
me to other text consoles. From X11 I can use Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get
into the text mode, however there is no console text nor any
chance to get out of this "console" back into X11 nor blindly
type anything, so I can only poweroff and poweron the laptop
with the power button (no reset).
Does anyone else see such behavior? Do multiple text or X
consoles work for other people in recent OI builds?

I did also try to disable vtdaemon security so as to allow
the unprivileged user to use any console, no luck.

Ideas (or confirmations/disprovals) are welcome,

I also had some problems in a5 (a2 was ok), which disappeared
again in a7. But I have a slightly different setting on vt7:
/etc/gdm.conf (I think that's only a question of taste, but
who knows...):
...
[security]
CheckDirOwner=false
...
so /dev/vt/7 and X11 are owned by me. The usual
checks should give you:

svcs -a|grep vt

online 13:38:03 svc:/system/console-login:vt3

online 13:38:03 svc:/system/console-login:vt4
online 13:38:03 svc:/system/console-login:vt2

Also /var/run/gdm/ (owner gdm:gdm) should exist (it's
usually missing).

I think your suspend/resume problems are unrelated
to this, that depends also on ACPI tables in your
bios and actual capabilities of hardware, I also did
not advance it to proper state on my machine yet.
