Hi Folks, I have OI running on an i3 PC. 4gig of RAM.
The machine started rebooting itself of its own accord. I updated OI two days ago but the problem has not gone away. I have checked the memory and that passes fine. No problem with the hard drives. The best I can get from the messages file is... Oct 11 20:04:48 jaguar pseudo: [ID 129642 kern.info] pseudo-device: winlock0 Oct 11 20:04:48 jaguar genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] winlock0 is /pseudo/winlock@0 Oct 11 20:04:49 jaguar pseudo: [ID 129642 kern.info] pseudo-device: fssnap0 Oct 11 20:04:49 jaguar genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] fssnap0 is /pseudo/fssnap@0 Oct 11 20:04:49 jaguar pseudo: [ID 129642 kern.info] pseudo-device: nsmb0 Oct 11 20:04:49 jaguar genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] nsmb0 is /pseudo/nsmb@0 Oct 11 20:04:49 jaguar ipf: [ID 774698 kern.info] IP Filter: v4.1.9, running. Oct 11 20:08:05 jaguar genunix: [ID 366299 kern.notice] ^M ...and then the restart. I've got no clue why it keeps restarting. I was getting irq 16 conflict issues but I turned off the motherboard sound card and that went. It restarted at just after 2am and was stable until a moment ago when it rebooted 3 times in quick succession. I'm not sure what happened, but root's crontab now read... 30 0,9,12,18,21 * * * /usr/lib/update-manager/update-refresh.sh where previously it had over 10 lines in it ... and none of them were the line from above; which I have now remmed out just in case it could be causing the issue. The files previously in /root are as they were. The zfs pools are now reporting that they are version 5 - they were created a few months ago ... do they default to 5 on creation? I thought they should have been the highest that the OS is capable of at the time, surely? I'd be grateful for any advice please because I'm at a loss with this one. Many thanks, Michelle Knight. _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
