Can you verify that you have the autosnapshot property set for the filesystem(s) you want to snapshot? If you are using more than 80% of the capacity, I don't think snapshots are created either. There is a third thing to check, because snapshots didn't work on my machine on my first try either, but I don't remember what it is...
