It froze repeatedly but I was never sure what was triggering it. It would eventually recover (most of the time) after 30 seconds or so. Frequently it would happen while simply writing an email and sometimes while looking for a file to attach. Moving the cursor with the mouse would sometimes do it too. It just generally had problems since thunderbird 4. I am running 6 now but not the 6 that came with openindiana. All problems appear to have been fixed...
