Hi,

I've a laptop running since an OpenSolaris build and just upgraded to each
version.
Now I've updated to the latest dev-il Package Repository and switched the
sfe repostory
and upgraded.

I still have problems with the kvm module, so I'm using VirtualBox and
unload the kvm module, because
otherwise VirtualBox didn't start.

But "suddenly " ( I do not know whats the real reason ) VirtualBox stops
with the attached Screenshot.

After a little debugging I found, that VBoxSVC is dumping a core:

[ewer@solewer:~]$pfexec mdb core
Loading modules: [ libc.so.1 libnvpair.so.1 libavl.so.1 libuutil.so.1
ld.so.1 ]
> ::stack
0x3c9cc5()
libc.so.1`_SUNW_Unwind_RaiseException+0x55()
libstdc++.so.6.0.16`__cxa_throw+0x59()
VBoxRT.so`_ZN3xml4FileC1ENS0_4ModeEPKcb+0x2c9()
VBoxRT.so`_ZN3xml13XmlFileParser4readERK9RTCStringRNS_8DocumentE+0xb1()
_ZN8settings14ConfigFileBaseC2EPKN3com7Utf8StrE+0x13e()
_ZN8settings14MainConfigFileC1EPKN3com7Utf8StrE+0x35()
_ZN10VirtualBox4initEv+0x2dd()
_ZN10VirtualBox14FinalConstructEv+9()
_Z21VirtualBoxConstructorP11nsISupportsRK4nsIDPPv+0x12d()
VBoxXPCOM.so`_ZN16nsGenericFactory14CreateInstanceEP11nsISupportsRK4nsIDPPv+0x24

The file to be read is $HOME/.VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml

I found the solution within a bug of VirtualBox describing a core dump but
with a different situation:
http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/1840

Setting the environment variable LD_NODIRECT=1 allows to start VirtualBox
again.

Greetings
Ewald
