Hi oi list, Not sure if anyone ran into the same issue as I did.
Running oi_148 (image-updated from opensolaris b134) I found it is unable/umount or eject USB flash drive as regular user. Neither can it be done via selecting umount in right-click gnome context menu. I need to pfexec umount -f with root privilege to umount the USB drive. It looks like a regression of opensolaris.org bug 12133 https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=12133 and chown /dev/console symbolic link target to myself (logged in at gnome console at the time) also solves the issue. As a comparison, I tried Solaris 11 Express and the issue cannot be duplicated. then I went on some basic checks. /dev/console and its symlink target permission are the same on both oi_148 and Solaris 11 Express. Enabling/disabling vtdaemon does not affect the outcome on both oi_148 and s11x, auths/profiles output are also the same. So my guess is that somehow oi_148 does not have the same fix somewhere in related code like Solaris 11 Express does (or opensolaris b134, for that matter, I didn“t recall seeing the issue in b134 either) Any thoughts? Thanks Ivan. _______________________________________________ OpenIndiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss
