Thanks to all of you who did the work, I took the plunge and bumped my LAN server from snv134 to oi147 yesterday and had zero problems using pkg image-update as per the instructions on the OI wiki. The hardware is a generic yumcha PC motherboard with an intel c2d and a couple of 2TB HDD's
