We hope Nitrogen CSITs to pass out going forward, so I fired a NetVirt CSIT
run for the review:

This likely doesn't work, since it uses a integration distro which does
have NetVirt in it yet. Jamo has a workaround to use the NetVirt distro but
that is only for the NetVirt periodic job and not the gate job.

Hi Vivek,

it looks like feature 'odl-openflowplugin-nxm-extensions' was not installed
properly on your side for some reason, because serializer for this
interface seen in warning message

is on latest Nitrogen and on Carbon registered properly in
NiciraExtensionProvider. For this part of plugin, it should work in same
way on both Nitrogen and Carbon, so maybe

there is another issue that came with Karaf 4 here.

a quick check in netvirt/vpnservice/features/odl-netvirt-api/pom.xml shows
that odl-openflowplugin-nxm-extensions *IS* listed as a dependency, so it's
not like that was just "forgotten" in the Karaf 4 feature migration...
would have been nice if it was that easy. ;)

I just had a quick look through the [1] logs (linked in below), and can
spot lines like this, so it looks like that feature did get installed,
doesn't it:

2017-06-18 13:42:00,807 | INFO | pool-2-thread-1 |
FeaturesServiceImpl | 9 - org.apache.karaf.features.core -
4.0.9 | mvn:org.opendaylight.openflowplugin/openflowplugin-
extension-nicira/0.5.0-SNAPSHOT

So this probably means that something is broken with the registration of
that serializer (whatever that actually is...), specifically under Karaf 4,
could that be? Any tips how to pursue on this, like perhaps what to grep
for or what additional logs to enable to see more about the registration of
such serializers, does that make any sense? Where in the code does that
happen?

Hi Sam,

have you seen the below warning before?
No, I have not seen this warning in Karaf 3 runs.
Here is the latest karaf log for stable/carbon run which is on Karaf 3 and
that doesn't have the warning:
https://logs.opendaylight.org/releng/jenkins092/netvirt-
csit-1node-openstack-newton-nodl-v2-upstream-stateful-
carbon/703/odl1_karaf.log.gz

Any idea what it is? it comes out repeatedly in the csit [1].

Looks to be an OFPlugin breakage for OpenFlow version 1.4 Nicira
ResubmitAction.
We could request Openflowplugin folks to look into this :

2017-06-18 13:49:43,284 | WARN | entLoopGroup-7-1 |
ActionUtil | 343 - org.opendaylight.openflowplugin.impl

nicira.action.rev140714.nodes.node.table.flow.instructions.
instruction.instruction.apply.actions._case.apply.actions.action.action.
NxActionResubmitNodesNodeTableFlowApplyActionsCase for version 4 not found.

Vivek,

have you seen the below warning before? Any idea what it is? it comes out
repeatedly in the csit [1]. This is the karaf 4 job with the 77 errors.
Wonder if it is related? There is a later flow datastore exception that
might be related.
