My understanding was that we (you) want to maintain OpenIndiana to support SunRay as much as possible (see https://github.com/OpenIndiana/oi-userland/pull/15150). That would mean that we should add the 32 bit support for libxfont2 back to OI. I assume it got removed simply because it was not clear it is needed. The library/motif case is different. It got obsoleted primarily because we had no recipe in OI to build it.
