I have a similar problem to that on windows when I run libreoffice without
configuring the Java VM.
Can you try to configure the java VM on libreoffice before opening the document
?

So, having fixed solenv/gbuild/platform/solaris.mk <http://solaris.mk> to not
pass stupid
flags to ld, libreoffice 4.0.4.1 with my minimal set of patches builds cleanly.
Unfortunately, it makes absolutely no difference to the actual
functionality. It crashes just like it did before.
